The Healthy Havenscourt Collaborative partnered with Black Cultural Zone and Destiny Arts Center to host our 3rd annual, joint block party on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 at the Coliseum BART station.
There were amazing performances from Piwai and Cin. The youth from Destiny Arts danced their hearts out. The elders from Lion Creek Crossings, along with Oakland’s Youth Poet Laurate, Myra Estrada, performed powerful spoken word pieces.

Local business vendors sold baked goods, mango smoothies, jewelry, comic books, juices, home-made lotions, and much more! Thank you Jaleh Bakery, That Hausa Vegan, Mangosay, and Jayda Juicing for your tasty sweets.
Our event could not have been possible with out community organizations come out to share resources. Exhibitions and activities from Castlemont High's Sustainable Urban Design Program, Transform, Better Neighborhoods Same Neighbors, Museum of Children Arts, Misssey Inc, Cape and Cowl Comics , Cheryl Ward Ministries, Communities for a Better Environment, Civic Corps, KIPP Norcal, Oakland Public Library Bike Library, Oakland Public Library, Diversity in Health Training Institute, and Roots & Ramas Nature School, Sew Fresh Embroidery, Exotic Linx & Body Essentials, Intrinsic Formulas, and local youth vendors.
