Rebirth Anthem
It all started when…
Keisha Henderson, East Oakland community leader, wanted to find ways to empower, motivate, uplift her community and build equity in under resourced communities.
How might we inspire residents to manifest how they would like their block and neighborhood to be?
Impact: transformed the block by installing planter barrels, planting trees, and painting visionary murals. Inspired neighbors to do their part to improve the neighborhood instead of waiting for external change. The block feels safer, residents come outside and participate in activities, and visitors come because it feels so nice. The project is spreading.
